About us

Hi, I’m Kit!

For the past 8+ years I’ve worked in early childhood education as a teacher, leader, and trainer, supporting children from 18 months to 8 years old. I’m passionate about child-centred, play-based, and nature-inspired approaches that nurture development in ways that feel joyful, responsive, and meaningful.

With a background in developmental and social psychology (BSc Durham; MSc LSE), I went on to train as both a teacher (PGCEi, University of Nottingham) and a play therapist (KAPC). Over the years, I’ve seen time and again how responsive care and playful moments build strong brain foundations—helping little ones feel secure, manage big feelings, and grow into confident, resilient learners.

Becoming a mum four years ago deepened this conviction and inspired me to focus even more on supporting children and families in holistic ways. Baby College brings all of my knowledge, skills, passions, values, and future goals together in one amazing program. I’m so excited to offer families here in Nairobi the opportunity to learn, play, and grow together—building brains, bodies, and connections that last a lifetime.

I’m also deeply inspired by Baby College’s collaboration with Goldsmiths University on The Little Seed Project—a powerful reminder that small beginnings can spark lasting impact. As Baby College Nairobi grows, I look forward not only to welcoming families into our sessions, but also to expanding into meaningful community outreach across Nairobi.

Sheil and I are so excited to be on this journey together, realising our dreams and supporting families as best we can through Baby College Nairobi!

Hi, I’m Sheil!

I’ve spent over 11 years working in early childhood education—as a teacher, support specialist, and school leader—and my greatest motivation has always been to give babies, children, parents, and caregivers the highest quality emotional and developmental support.

My background is in psychology (BSc, University of Port Elizabeth), with further studies in Educational Psychology (BSY Group UK), School Management and Leadership (Harvard Graduate School of Education), and a teaching qualification (PGCEi, University of Nottingham). This blend of academic grounding and hands-on experience has strengthened my belief that the early years are not only important—they’re truly transformative.

As both a professional and a mum, I’ve seen first-hand how limited access to quality support can impact families, especially in those critical first years. That’s why I’m so passionate about using my knowledge and skills to help close that gap—by building supportive networks, strengthening early education systems, and creating programs that meet families where they are.

Baby College deeply resonated with me because it offers exactly that—a strong, evidence-based platform that empowers families and gives every baby and toddler the opportunity to build a secure foundation for life.

Together with Kit, I’m so excited to bring Baby College Nairobi to life—a warm, welcoming space where families can grow, connect, and thrive.
