Run a business you believe in.

Baby College is the UK’s original parent and baby development programme. We’ve been helping families give their children the best possible start for over 25 years. Now we’re looking for people who want to do the same in their area.

WHY BABY COLLEGE

Built on 25 years of evidence. Run by people who care.

Baby College classes are based on established child development research and delivered in a warm, structured format that parents trust and return to week after week. When you run a Baby College, you’re not just filling time with activities. Every song, every game, every moment of movement has a purpose, and you’ll understand exactly why

  • Science-led programme, developed over 25 years and informed by research partnerships with Goldsmiths, UCL, and Middlesex
  • BFA member with a Workbuzz 5 Star Franchisee Satisfaction rating, based on anonymous feedback from our network
  • Low start-up cost: £7,450 for full training, starter kit, and everything you need to launch
  • Flexible model: most franchisees run 3 or 4 mornings a week and build from there
  • Meaningful work: you’ll be the person families remember

"I honestly struck gold"

THE OPPORTUNITY

What running a Baby College actually looks like

You’ll run weekly classes for babies and toddlers aged 0 to 4 in your local area, working from community venues you hire yourself. Classes are structured across three programmes: Infants (birth to 9 months), Toddlers (9 to 18 months), and Juniors (18 months to 3 years). You can also offer dedicated baby massage courses and work with nurseries, delivering sessions on site and offering CPD workshops to early years staff.

Most franchisees start with a handful of classes and grow steadily. Some work part-time around their families. Others build to 100 or more families a week. The model is flexible enough to fit both.

You’ll be supported from day one:

  • In-person and online training covering class delivery, business setup, marketing, and safeguarding
  • Ready-made marketing materials and your own page on the Baby College website
  • Access to our full library of resources, programme updates, and class content
  • Ongoing support from head office and a network of 45+ franchisees who actually help each other
  • A Year 1 support group led by Georgina, dedicated to helping new franchisees find their feet
  • Coaching and business planning with Vicky, our UK Head of Performance, to help you grow

The initial franchise term is 5 years, renewable. Monthly management services and marketing fees apply after your first investment.

WHAT OUR FRANCHISEES SAY

Tiffiny Dickinson, Baby College Bedford | 11 years

Tiffiny was a primary school teacher for a decade before having her second child. She wanted something flexible that kept her in early years.

“It’s the best job ever. The flexibility has been life-changing. It’s helped me through tough times and allowed me to support thousands of parents.”

She now welcomes over 100 families a week.

Ruby Davies, Baby College Cardiff

Ruby spent years in musical theatre before deciding she wanted something that let her keep performing and being creative, but with a different kind of audience.

“When I found Baby College, I honestly felt like I’d struck gold. Every activity we do is science-based, so I know I’m giving parents sound advice they can actually take home.”

She also talks about what the classes give parents beyond the content: a room where someone else might say “I’ve had a rubbish night too,” and mean it.

“You build a little village. A lovely group of parents who are there to support each other on the journey. I think that’s the best part of what we do.”

Kate Hughes, Baby College Oxford | since 2022

Kate took over Baby College Oxford after years as a school teacher and time out raising three children. She’s grown to five venues and around 250 families.

“I never thought I’d be running my own business, earning a decent salary, and loving every second of it. It really was the best decision, and there’s so much more still to come.”

She delivers some of the training herself and is closely involved in the franchisee journey from first enquiry to launch.

“At the heart of Baby College is care: for our babies, our parents, our teachers, and our franchisees. Supporting each part of that community is what I love most.”

Frequently asked questions

Baby College has been running classes in the UK since 2000. There are now over 200 classes a week across 45+ franchise areas in the UK and internationally, with thousands of families attending every week.

We run three programmes: Infants (birth to 9 months), Toddlers (9 to 18 months), and Juniors (18 months to 3 years). You can also offer standalone baby massage courses.

No. Families come back term after term and many attend with second and third children. The programme is designed to grow with the child across our three age groups, from birth right through to three years.

You don’t need to be a teacher or childcare professional, though many of our franchisees are. What matters is that you genuinely care about families and early childhood development, communicate well, and have the drive to build your own business. We’ll teach you everything else

No prior qualification is needed. Your training with us covers everything you need to deliver classes with confidence, including baby massage. Many franchisees come from teaching, healthcare, or early years backgrounds, but it’s not a requirement.

No. What’s more important is enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. We’ll guide you through everything from setting up your business to growing it, and you’ll have support from head office and the wider network every step of the way.

The 2026 initial investment is £7,450. This covers your training, starter kit, and full access to our support and resources. We’ll talk you through everything in detail on your discovery call.

After your initial investment you’ll pay a monthly Management Services Fee along with a small marketing and IT contribution. These cover continued support from head office, access to our systems, regular programme updates, and national marketing activity.

It depends on your location, how many classes you run, and how you grow. We’re happy to share real earnings figures and network averages on your discovery call, so you get an honest picture rather than a best-case scenario.

Yes, and many franchisees do. Most run three or four mornings a week to start and build from there. The model is designed to flex around your life.

Most franchisees run two or three classes back to back on three or four mornings a week. Afternoons are usually kept free for admin, marketing, and planning, or for running an additional session such as baby massage. No two days are quite the same.

You’ll hire suitable community spaces in your area to run your classes. Most franchisees use a few different venues across the week. We’ll help you work out what to look for and what works best for your area.

Most new franchisees are up and running within a few months of completing training. The exact timeline depends on your area and availability, but we’ll help you move at a pace that works for you.

Training covers class delivery across all three programmes, baby massage, business setup, marketing, social media, and safeguarding. It’s a mix of in-person and online, and ongoing support continues well after you launch.

Full training before you launch, ready-made marketing materials, access to our systems and resources, ongoing guidance from head office, a Year 1 Support group led by Georgina, and regular coaching and business planning with Vicky, our UK Head of Performance.

Ready-to-use social media posts and campaigns, branded templates and resources, ongoing marketing training, your own page on the Baby College website, and direct support from the team. We’ll help you build a strong local presence from day one

Yes, once your first area is well established. Several of our franchisees have grown this way. We’d always recommend getting your first area right before expanding, and we’ll support you when the time comes.

No. There’s no renewal fee at the end of your five-year term..

The initial term is five years and is renewable. We’ll talk you through the renewal process well in advance so there are no surprises.

It’s a fair question and one we’d rather answer openly. The truth is that success with Baby College depends on the right combination of the right person, the right area, and the right effort. That’s why we’re careful about who we take on and thorough in our training and support.

If things aren’t going to plan, we don’t leave you to figure it out alone. Vicky works closely with franchisees on performance and growth, and we’ll always have an honest conversation before things become a problem.

No business comes with a guarantee, but we have a strong track record and a genuine interest in every franchisee succeeding. We wouldn’t still be here after 25 years if we didn’t.

Franchisees can sell their Baby College area, and many do so at a profit after building a strong local business. We’ll support you through that process. You can also choose not to renew at the end of your five-year term with no penalty. We ask that you give us reasonable notice either way so we can support a smooth transition for your families and any incoming franchisee.

Yes. We have franchise areas outside the UK and welcome enquiries from overseas. Costs may vary slightly and we’ll talk you through the details on your discovery call.

Download the brochure or book a discovery call. We’ll chat about your goals, answer your questions, and help you work out whether Baby College is the right fit. No pressure, just a conversation.
