Our Classes

Infants 0-9 months

Our Infant classes offer an insight into baby development to increase your confidence and understanding of your growing baby. All our fun activities are suitable from birth with the exercises progressing as your baby grows.

Toddlers 9-18 months

For your older more active baby who is now fascinated with the world around them we introduce additional learning themes and practice new skills. Activities promote language and social skills and body awareness.

Juniors 18 months – 3 years+

Our special fun Junior programme is perfect for older toddlers who are even more active. We love encouraging their confidence in their physical and social skills and in supporting increased independence with fun and stimulating games. They don’t even realise how much they are learning at the same time.

About us

Hello!

I’m Lisa and I run Baby College Aylesbury and the Chilterns. We currently have classes in Haddenham, Princes Risborough and Aylesbury.

I have been a Primary School Teacher for 17 years. I graduated with QTS and a BA(Hons) in Early Primary Education; this was my specialism and my passion. My favourite class to teach was Reception, although during my career I have also taught in Years 1, 2 and 3. I love working with children and care deeply about their education. Teaching in Reception enabled me to support the children in reaching their full potential, in a creative way. The power of play is incredibly important in these foundation years; it is simply the best way for children to learn, and I strongly believe it should feature more prominently in classrooms.

I moved here from Yorkshire 12 years ago with my partner, Mark. We now have our own amazing little man, Elliott, who is 7 and our fabulous little dog, Lyra, who is 9.

After having Elliott, I began to feel like I needed a career change, but never knew what to change to. Then I happened across the idea of running my own baby and toddler classes and the rest is history! I researched a lot of different classes, but for me, none compared to Baby College.

I love how it links to the EYFS, which is the educational framework nurseries and Reception classes follow, so Baby College is literally helping to prepare children for  school, setting them off on their learning journey.

I was impressed that Baby College had been part of an academic study which proves that the classes benefit children and their families and that all of the activities used are rooted firmly in science.

I also love the holistic approach taken in Baby College classes; they develop the whole child and don’t just focus on one area, such as sensory stimulation, physical development or music.

Finally, I love the parental support found in a Baby College class. They really are as much for the parents as they are for the little ones. Parents are their child’s first and most influential teacher, so I’m incredibly excited to share my knowledge with the parents in my classes and empower them to be the confident, playful teacher that their child needs.

I endeavour to ensure that everyone who joins my classes has fun, feels supported and gains confidence, friends and ideas to support their child’s development! If this sounds like something you’d like to be involved in, then I’d love to hear from you!
